Something that
has been proved and that has to be considered with no underestimation, we
ignore about our history and what it represents. Many times we say we don’t care
neither the fact of knowing where we are from nor what our roots are because we
feel embarrassed about our origins and the pre-Hispanic blood that runs through
our veins or simply we feel diminished. But it isn’t like that, our ancestors
had a great knowledge and intelligence that even today are still surprising us.
All this triggers in a final problem such as people lacking culture about the place
they were born or live in.
Kids today
do not even know what was what civilization developed in their states (in this
case Quintana Roo), they don't know either the singlets cultural heritage in
their communities or surroundings; even they think it is funny to say that they
are a cultural heritage.
We cannot
totally blame the government because it up to each of us to get interested in;
so we present some proposals to solve this problem.
Promoting
awareness of cultural heritage through visits to various communities close to
archeological sites at least once every 6 months beginning with elementary
school children. Make them feel the desire of reading or searching into the
past and all it represents.
Creating
workshops to learn a language or pre-Hispanic dance schools, taking it as an
extracurricular activity, because it is not necessary to impose knowledge but
little by little people get interested in it, and with a recovery cost.
Propose the
children to keep a travel diary in which to write the places they have visited,
describing the history of each place they visit, including national cultural
heritage, or which places they would like to visit when, in that way, they will
know more and more as they grow up and go deeper into the past.
